Ryu Min Ja (b. 1942): Rhythmic Meditation of Color and Form Ryu has continuously explored nature and humanity, developing an autonomous language of expression independent of artistic trends. Her paintings, freed from the division between Eastern and Western painting, have from the outset been interpreted through strong Buddhist imagery, invoking themes such as the Avatamsaka Sutra, Bodhisattva, Mandala, and the cycle of rebirth.
